Ph.D. Synopsis:
Thesis topic: Optical and Magneto-Optical Properties of type-II Excitons in ZnTe/ZnSe Stacked Submonolayer Quantum Dots, Advisor: Prof. I. L. Kuskovsky at The City University of New York, 2007-2013.
Summary:
Fundamental physical and material properties of type-II excitons in stacked ZnTe/ZnSe submonolayer quantum dots were studied via investigating light matter interactions in such systems. The samples, grown via combination of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and migration enhanced epitaxy (MEE) were studied using photoluminescence (PL), time-resolved PL (TRPL) and PL in the presence of externally applied magnetic field (Magneto-PL) keeping in mind the fundamental and advanced interests for such and related systems in quantum physics of semiconductors and photovoltaics. Optical excitonic Aharonov-Bohm effect was studied in great details that revealed the possibility of storage and retrieval of excitons for quantum information-related applications.
